Vacation seems to get a little more fun when you get to bring along your furry family members. Unfortunately, you may feel bad when you have to leave your pet behind in the cabin. At Alpine Chalet Rentals, when you stay in our pet friendly cabins we know some great places you can bring your furry friends along to!
1. Go Out for a Treat
Everyone deserves a few treats while on vacation, especially those “good dogs.” Bonediggity, located in Gatlinburg is a doggy bakery and gifts store. Stop in here to find a sweet treat for your pal, a leash if you need one, or even a sweater. Another great place to visit is Mad Dog’s Creamery! This ice cream shop has many flavors of ice cream, donuts, and a few other sweet treats! When you visit Mad Dog’s just ask the servers what menu items they have that are pet friendly. A sweet treat is the perfect way to end a day after exploring the Smokies!
2. Explore the National Park
The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is a gorgeous area with over 800 miles worth of hiking trails! However, many of those trails don’t allow pets due mostly to safety reasons. However, there are places in the national park that are pet friendly! Both the Gatlinburg Trail and the Oconaluftee River Trail allow pets, but they must be kept on a leash. Dog are also allowed in campground areas and picnic areas such as the Greenbrier picnic area or Mitchell Bottoms. These are great ways to stretch both yours and your dogs legs. You two may even be able to play in the river when it’s warm outside!
