There are a lot of classic duos out there. Abbot and Costello, Batman and Robin, and Simon and Garfunkel all come to mind. However, we think no one can compete with our favorite match made in heaven: beans and cornbread! A Smoky Mountain favorite, this delicious dish is the focus of the first ever Gatlinburg Beans ‘n Cornbread Blast. Featuring music, games, and bowl after bowl of everyone’s favorite Southern meal, this all new Gatlinburg food festival is a must-see event.

Where and When
The Beans ‘n Cornbread Blast will be held in downtown Gatlinburg on May 8, 2014. The fun will last from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., so you can stop on by for lunch, dinner, or both!
What to Expect
Be sure to come hungry to this festival! Local vendors will whip up their tastiest beans and cornbread recipes as they compete for your vote in this judged competition. Everyone who attends gets a ballot, so you’ll get to help decide who has the best beans in the Smokies.
In addition to plenty of great food, guests will also enjoy wonderful bluegrass music from one of the area’s most talented bands. Another highlight of the festival will be the Corn Hole Tournament benefiting the local Humane Society.
Tickets for the Beans ‘n Cornbread Blast are $15 and are available online at the official event website.
